Our journey to becoming a global indoor ski simulator manufacturer
The SkiMachine company you know and love today looked a lot different in 1995, when our founder, Rob, embarked on this exciting journey.
As a talented snowboarder and mechanical engineer, Rob decided to design and build two treadmill ski machines and open his own indoor ski center. Its success soon sparked a growing demand for ski simulators from other centers.
During this time, Rob attended several ski and snowboard courses, soon achieving the highest degree of snowboard instructing in Austria, ´Staatlich geprüfter Snowboardlehrer´. This prestigious accreditation meant he could teach skiing and snowboarding to the highest standards at his indoor ski center.
Rob also spent a lot of his time educating new instructors for Snowsports Academy, organizing ski trips for his customers and introducing countless people to snow sports.
The success of these business ventures eventually enabled him to expand the indoor ski center in 2000 by adding two endless ski simulators, including an early iteration of the Alpine Disc Slope Ski Simulator.
As the demand for his indoor ski simulators started to snowball, he decided to dedicate all his focus and attention to SkiMachine formerly known as Alpine Engineering BV.
Since then, the knowledge of snow sports and the drive for innovation has helped our team to grow the business into a leading indoor ski slope simulator manufacturer.
Today SkiMachine stands for teamwork, passion and durability and is made up of a team of passionate professionals working collectively to create a wide and reliable product range for customers all over the world.
